Requirements

  • TWIC eligible
  • Construction experience a plus
  • Able to coordinate all project disciplines, including process, mechanical, piping, civil/structural, electrical and instrument/controls.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • BS degree in either Mechanical or Chemical (open to Civil/Structural as well)
  • Experience with scoping out projects, troubleshooting plant problems and issues, interfacing with other engineering personnel, contract engineering companies, construction, operations, reliability, maintenance, and environmental groups.
  • Field experience including field construction coordination
  • Responsibility for project cost, schedule, quality, and safety
  • Professional Engineer’s license a plus but not required
  • Experience with refinery and chemical processes, unit operations, and environments.
  • Position is full-time in North New Jersey. Reasonable daily commute is required.
  • Requires daily field investigations, wearing Nomex, and coordinating various disciplines and groups
  • Experience with project engineering duties on multiple simultaneous small to medium sized capital projects.

  • Develop Project Execution Plans
  • North Jersey chemical manufacturer seeks a full-time Project Engineer, responsible for duties in the Global Engineering group.
  • Deliver project based on customer’s needs and project goals Progress project from detailed design to construction using project procedures, holding interface meetings, setting schedules and follow-up on issues with internal and external technical support
  • Support the tracking of year-to-date capital and expense budgets to local and global interfaces
  • The principle responsibilities are to manage and progress capital projects from appropriation to completion, by applying a disciplined approach to the project engineering process. The role will support developing projects through detailed design and developing execution plans while achieving stated goals.
  • Use process design knowledge to: perform common design calculations; verify vendor calculation/design; perform proof of concept check; apply concept from technical group to plant operations; interface with engineering specialists, project engineers and cost estimators.
  • The candidate shall be able to work in self-directed as well as collaborative environments, while maintaining a high level of accountability to the project development outcome.
  • Lead Integrated Project Team
  • Participate in global networks involved with improving the development process and sharing process design experience
  • Develop cost stewardship reports
  • This position requires interfacing and collaborating with site management, operations and maintenance, global engineering as well as third party inputs on costs and design.


Requirements:

  • Six plus years of project management experience
  • Enthusiastic about working within a process and succeeding through the achievement of goals attainment
  • Ability to interact with organizational levels both horizontally and vertically.
  • Attention to detail; clear and concise written as well as verbal communication skills
  • Project management experience preferred within chemical manufacturing, refining or utilities.
  • Bachelor degree engineering (mechanical, chemical)
  • Knowledge of project development and execution process
  • Knowledge of design practices and process safety standards
  • Self-directed and proactive worker; strong team player in collaborative and leading situations
