Job Summary:


Akima Infrastructure Services, LLC (AIS), is actively seeking candidates to support personnel as part of our staff augmentation team supporting the Department of Energy at the UCOR facility and project in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Successful candidates will be employees of AIS, a premier government contractor charged with employing highly motivated and well-qualified personnel who can advance UCOR's core mission. Though employed by AIS, the employee will take day-to-day direction and assignments from UCOR staff and procedures. Pay, benefits, Human Resources, and Employment Management functions are provided by AIS.


Qualified applicants must be a US citizen, at least 18 years of age, and able to meet pre-employment requirements including any required physicals, drug screen, and/or background investigation to satisfy clearance requirements from the Department of Energy.


Job Responsibilities:


  • Reviews performance trends, prepares analysis and cost impact and monthly project performance reports, and recommends contractor invoices for approval.
  • Has the ability to review and analyze project program and oversee the production of accurate progress/performance reports.
  • Evaluates manpower, labor hour, and labor cost requirements versus budget limitations.
  • Holds an expert understanding of schedule, critical path analysis, resource loading and leveling.
  • Utilizes extensive knowledge of construction contracting including the manner in which contract type effects implementation of project controls systems.
  • Participates in staffing decisions for projects.
  • Oversees the production and maintenance of accurate project schedules. Expert understanding of schedule resource loading and leveling.
  • Serves as a key participant in client and/or subcontractor negotiations.
  • Ensures that a tracking database is developed and maintained to cross check subcontractor funding is aligned with work authorization and expenditures.
  • Assists the Project Manager in budgeting and managing incentive programs.
  • Establishes and maintains client relationships.
  • Able to review and assess (as required) raw data that comes from project automated systems.
  • Possesses proven knowledge of scope control and change management.
  • Involved in tracking system to ensure that Project Management team is fully aware of detailed change order status.


Minimum Qualifications:


Level 2:


  • Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, project management, construction management, engineering or other related discipline; or equivalent combination of education and directly relevant work experience.
  • This is an entry-level position for a college graduate with a 4-year degree.


Level 3:


  • Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification desired.
  • Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, project management, construction management, engineering or other related discipline plus 2 years of related work experience; or equivalent combination of education and directly relevant work experience.


Level 4:


  • Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) desired.
  • Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, project management, construction management, engineering or other related discipline plus 4 years of related work experience; or equivalent combination of education and directly relevant work experience.


Level 5:


  • Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, project management, construction management, engineering or other related discipline plus 7 years of related work experience; or equivalent combination of education and directly relevant work experience.
  • Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) desired.


Level 6:


  • Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, project management, construction management, engineering or other related discipline plus 10 years of related work experience; or equivalent combination of education and directly relevant work experience.
  • Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) desired.


Level 7:


  • Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, project management, construction management, engineering or other related discipline plus 12 years of related work experience; or equivalent combination of education and directly relevant work experience.
  • Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) desired.


Level 8:


  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction, business, or related field, or demonstrated equivalent and related experience.


Experience:


  • Entrants to this position generally possess 12 years of experience with engineering, procurement and construction projects and operating industrial facilities.
  • 3 years of experience with cost, schedule, and supervision responsibilities.
  • Some field experience required with 3 years preferred.


Level 9:


  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction, business or related field, or demonstrated equivalent and related experience.


Experience:


  • 5 years’ experience with cost, schedule, and supervision responsibilities.
  • Some field experience required with 5 years preferred.
  • Entrants to this position generally possess 15 years of experience with engineering, procurement and construction projects and operating industrial facilities.


Level 10:


  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction, business or related field, or demonstrated equivalent and related experience.


Experience:


  • 7 years of experience with cost, schedule, and supervision of personnel responsibilities. 5 years of field experience required.
  • This position may have group or Project Services responsibility.
  • Entrants to this position generally possess 18 years of total experience with engineering, procurement and construction projects and operating industrial facilities.
  • Often functions on a large project or multi-project environment.
  • Requires demonstrated ability to effectively lead the project controls function on a large/complex project.
