Job Summary


We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Project Buyer to join our team. The Project Buyer will be responsible for managing the procurement process for a specific project, ensuring that all necessary materials and services are sourced in a timely and cost-effective manner. The successful candidate will work closely with project managers, engineers, and vendors to ensure that project requirements are met on time and within budget.


Key Responsibilities


  • Manage purchase orders and track deliveries to ensure timely receipt of materials and services.
  • Develop and execute procurement strategies for the project, including sourcing of materials and services, and supplier management.
  • Collaborate with project managers to identify project requirements and ensure that procurement plans align with project timelines and budgets.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to identify cost-saving opportunities and implement cost-reduction strategies.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers and negotiate favorable terms and conditions for contracts.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as relevant laws and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, including purchase orders, invoices, and delivery information.
  • Analyze and evaluate supplier performance, and manage supplier relationships to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential vendors and evaluate their products and services to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with project specifications.


Requirements


  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Job is not remote, must live in or within a commuting distance to Cullman, AL
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • 3-5 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience managing vendor relationships.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of automotive manufacturing supply chain best practices and relevant laws and regulations.
  • Must have 2+years’ experience in automotive sourcing
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


Some travel to supplier can be required.
