BSD OCR - Clinical Research Operational Excellence


About The Department


The Office of Clinical Research (OCR) is dedicated to supporting the infrastructure for the management and administration of clinical research at The University of Chicago as well as individual research programs with the goal of improving communication, consistency, and collaboration across the Biological Sciences Division and UChicago Medicine.


To mission of the OCR is to catalyze clinical research by providing expertise, resources, infrastructure, and systems that facilitate clinical research operations and enable collaboration across the enterprise while promoting compliance and human subject protection on behalf of our diverse community of patients and volunteers.


Job Summary


The Program Specialist – Education is an integral member of our Clinical Research Operational Excellence team, providing services in the following areas: clinical trial operations process improvement, educational program development and management, and technology implementation. This position partners with research faculty and staff across the Biological Sciences Division and UChicago Medicine serving as a client-facing partner to drive clinical research workforce educational programming with the goals of improving administrative processes, facilitating training and professional development of research staff, and enabling cross-functional collaboration.


Responsibilities


  • Drive high-quality projects within expected timeframes.
  • Interacts with faculty, researchers and staff for committee work or information.
  • Monitor progress of projects and initiatives and ensure key stakeholders are kept informed about progress and expected outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain programs that focus on internal and external collaborations and partnerships that enhance the quality of the clinical research enterprise at University of Chicago.
  • Uses moderate/solid understanding and experience to administer the delivery of services to program participants and/or beneficiaries.
  • Has moderate/high levels of interactions with faculty, researchers and staff for committee work or information.
  • Performs other related work as needed.
  • Design new training and development programs for clinical research faculty and staff.
  • Uses general understanding and experience to administer the delivery of services to program participants and/or beneficiaries.
  • Contribute to divisional clinical research training portfolio, training plans, coordination of speakers and planning of modules and topics.
  • Support clinical research technology platform planning and implementation.
  • Provide mentorship and counsel to clinical research staff and faculty.

Minimum Qualifications


Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.

    Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through < 2 years of work experience in a related job discipline.
