Job Responsibilities


The SCDMV is seeking a Program Coordinator to join our growing team in the Driver Service Administration. Do you possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills? This position is in Driver Services Administration, in Headquarters, Blythewood, SC.

Responsibilities Of The Program Coordinator


  • Performs other related duties as needed.
  • Attends meetings on matters concerning business/budget activities.
  • Assists in the development and preparation of budget requests by other units within Driver Services; monitors compliance with approved budgets to avoid over-expenditures and/or inappropriate expenditures.
  • Monitors budget expenditures to ensure the unit operates within budget allocations.
  • Develops and/or explains the use of budgetary forms to division administrative staff. Assists Revenue and Accounting with the quarterly uninsured motorist payments.
  • Purchases supplies and maintains inventory for Driver Services.
  • Assists in the preparation of the Driver Services budget by analyzing needs and spending trends, researching costs and making recommendations.
  • Runs reports and statistics from ALIR website and schedule ALIR Working Group meetings as needed.
  • Participates in dispositions and testify in court regarding investigations findings.
  • Performs all procurement activities for Driver Services.
  • Assists other units within Driver Services, with procurement requests as required, ensuring that requests do not exceed allocated budget.
  • Collects and arranges budget information for presentation.
  • Assists FR, General Counsel and Constituent Services with FR related issues. Assists with updated FR related legislation and update procedures and business processes as needed.
  • Prepares budget reports for review as required.
  • Assists with the preparation of statistical and financial reports at the direction of the Director.
  • Collaborates with MV Solutions and FR Business Analyst to trouble shoot issues and expand or modify systems to serve new purposes or improve work flow.

A bachelor's degree and relevant program experience.


Additional Requirements


  • Ability to exercise judgement and discretion in interpreting and applying departmental policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of FR laws and budget/procurement principles.
  • May be required to work outside of the normal business hours.
  • In and out of state travel maybe required.
  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
  • Under minimal supervision, employee should be able to work independently and perform complex duties requiring good judgement and discretion in interpreting and applying established departmental and agency policies and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to collect, compile, and assemble information in a clear, concise manner.
  • Operates in a professional office environment.
  • Knowledge of policies, practices, and procedures of SCDMV laws.

A bachelor's degree and three or more years of relevant program experience.
