JOB TITLE: Professional-Big Data Software Engineer

JOB LOCATION: 208 S. Akard Street, Dallas, TX 75202 [and various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S.; may work from home]

DUTIES: Use expertise of JVM-based programming languages including Java, Scala and Kotlin. Contribute to high performance, distributed data processing solutions using Big Data projects such as Spark, Hadoop, NoSQL, and other distributed computing frameworks. Develop software components for both batch and streaming data processing. Design and implement multiple threads application to read/consume and write/produce messages to topics in Kafka. Produce and manage data source within cloud file system, Hadoop file system, databases like Vertica, and PostgreSQL etc., along with cloud computing and analysis services such as Databricks, Snowflakes, Tableau and PowerBI. Master Big Data programming languages and frameworks, writes code, implements interface, completes documentation, and performs testing and debugging of applications. Analyze, design, program, debug and modify software components, features and service used in distributed, large scale analytics and visualization solutions. Interact with data scientists and industry experts to understand how data needs to be loaded, converted, transformed and presented. Build distributed high-performance systems using leading edge data and AI solutions in Azure and/or AWS. Build distributed high-performance systems using Spark, Scala, Python and Java. Design and Develop multiple applications to read/consume and write/produce messages to topics in kafka. Develop Scala applications for loading/streaming data into NoSQL databases and HDFS.

REQUIREMENTS: Requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent degree, in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or Scientific Computing and 3 Years of experience in the job offered or 3 Years of experience in a related occupation building distributed high-performance systems using Spark, Scala, Python and Java; designing and developing multiple applications to read/consume and write/produce messages to topics in kafka; developing Scala applications for loading/streaming data into NoSQL databases and HDFS.
