If you are passionate about our company vision and mission, we invite you to apply for the position of Professional Consulting Veterinarian (PCV) based out of your home office in or near Detroit, MI, covering Michigan, Northern Indiana, and Chicago, IL. Hill's PCVs work to ensure that Hill's is known as a scientific leader and an innovative, credible partner that is engaged with veterinary and pet health professionals to transform the lives of dogs and cats through superior nutrition. The Professional Consulting Veterinarian (PCV) is part of the U.S. Professional Veterinary Affairs team, and is responsible for relationship building, education, and influence of veterinary and pet retail customers. These include veterinary specialists, general practitioners, members of the veterinary healthcare team, Key Thought Leaders in the veterinary profession, residents and interns, leaders of veterinary professional organizations, and pet retailers. Individuals in this role also provide support for Hill's Field Engagement teams by delivering internal education to sales Territory Managers, providing external education and training to pet and veterinary customers, and supporting customer activities. The PCV works closely with the Regional Sales Manager in their assigned market(s) to plan and execute initiatives that drive business growth.

What you will do

• Key Thought Leaders and Specialty Practices • Establish influential relationships with Key Thought Leaders in specialty hospitals and academia. Identify opportunities to deliver relevant continuing education and engage KTLs in Hills’ initiatives. Promote active recommendation and endorsement of Hill’s products. • Call on specialty hospital customers with appropriate frequency, in person and/or virtually, based on tier. Educate and implement initiatives that result in an active Hill’s recommendation from the veterinary healthcare team. Increase Hill’s sales and market share with assigned specialty hospital customers.

• Performs other duties as assigned
• Regional, National, and Corporate Customer Activities • Develop working relationships with local and regional veterinary associations to identify, target, and prioritize opportunities that support Hill’s strategies. • Partner with US Marketing and Retail Marketing teams to provide customer insight and technical support for Hill’s products and programs. • Represent Hill’s at assigned regional and national veterinary conferences and corporate customer meetings. • Serve on project teams, deliver webinars, and support Hill’s customer tours as assigned.
• Market Area Support • Partner with the Market Area team to increase sales and market share and establish Hill’s as the preferred partner with pet retail and veterinary healthcare teams, to help achieve team performance goals. Deliver appropriate education, technical coaching, and training to meet customer needs. • Effectively utilize digital tools to improve educational reach and influence. • Support Territory Managers’ technical, nutritional, and product expertise with education and training during district meetings, conference calls, and while working together in person and virtually. • Work closely with the Regional Sales Manager to identify and prioritize business needs and implement strategies. Collaboratively plan and participate in Market Area customer events that will increase product sales and market share.

Required Qualifications

• Doctorate Professional degree in veterinary medicine (DVM, VMD or equivalent)
• You connect the dots - building relationships and promoting Hill’s scientific leadership through education, training, and advocacy.
• You are a professional - with excellent skills in planning, priority setting, communication, and public speaking.
• Able to work independently to manage a demanding schedule with irregular hours and to manage travel within geography/region.
• Excellent business presentation skills. Strong verbal, written, and virtual communication
• Excellent relationship building, influence, and negotiation skills.
• Strong work ethic, professional appearance and demeanor, high integrity.
• At least 4 years of Veterinary clinical practice
• Active License in at least one state of the US
• Able to fulfill travel requirements of the position (on average 2-3 nights per week, but will vary).
• You are a collaborator - working with dynamic teams who share your passion.
• Digital proficiency

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to relocate for career advancement.
• Business and leadership skills.
• Google Suite proficiency (i.e, Sheets, Slides, Docs)
• Animal health industry or sales experience.

Salary Range $88,800 - $131,250 USD
Pay is based on several non discriminatory factors including but not limited to experience, education, skills and office location. In addition to your salary, Colgate-Palmolive
offers a performance based bonus and competitive benefits package.
