Production Operator

Evendale Bakery - Cincinnati, Ohio

Non-exempt Position – Full Time

Production Operators set standards and practices to produce a quality baked White Castle bun. The duties include, but are not limited to equipment and facility cleaning, pest control, using safety procedures and being qualified annually for special duties by OSHA standards, machine operation, quality assurance, safety, Food Safety, GMP’s and fork truck operations.

What we are looking for:

• Effective communication skills.
• Operate fork truck and all equipment on production line.
• Wear protective clothing and equipment.
• Work cohesively with and among others to achieve end results.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Tolerate working with chemicals.
• Lifting 45 pounds several times during shift and occasionally lifting up to 60 pounds.
• Follow written and/or verbal procedures and directions, including Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures and chemical label directions.
• Tolerate extreme cold, wet, hot or dusty environments.
• Work in confined spaces and high places.
• Bending, turning, twisting, climbing, stooping and standing.

What you will do:

• Follow all company rules, policies and procedures, Values and Behaviors.
• Appropriately handle, mix and use chemicals according to label directions and SDS sheets.
• Follow established mixing and extruding procedures, as well as maintain quality and food safety standards, to produce consistent dough and dough pieces for development of the White Castle bun.
• Responsible for facility cleaning, including equipment, floors, walls and overheads.
• Accurately enter finished product information into the electronic warehouse management system, accurately barcode finished product, safely place product in freezer for selection and shipment by the shipping department.
• Clean and sanitize food processing equipment according to established Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures.
• Conduct and accurately document pest control checks.
• Act as a final checker to ensure that the dough balls are properly panned and free of quality and food safety defects.
• Bag and box all good quality baked White Castle buns for palletizing and shipment.
• Follow established food safety procedures and rules while working in sanitation and in production to ensure compliance with SQF level 2 standards and FDA rules/laws.
• Sort through bad corrugated cartons for re-use in the box former.
