Job Summary:

Trane Technologies is hiring for a 2nd Shift Production Manager in Columbia, SC! This role will provide direction to salaried and hourly production and support staff employees in a manufacturing and assembly environment. Lead the strategic actions of a manufacturing/assembly department. Successfully creating an environment focused on problem solving, people development, and company values. Accountable for driving higher standards of excellence in manufacturing high quality products in a safe manner while assuring cost-efficient products and on-time delivery to customers, and for maintaining an environment of positive employee relations in a team environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain positive employee relationships within and between departments as well as other plant locations.
  • Assure employees are consistently being trained and developed so that talent is retained and succession plans remove gaps in bench strength.
  • Responsible for coaching and improving individual and team performance to acceptable standards, including but not limited to workmanship, attendance, safety, and job performance.
  • Drive department metrics (SQDIP) and problem solve to address gaps: problem solve to get root cause for OTS and HPU miss, and manpower planning.
  • Responsible for overall performance of assigned work group, including safety, quality, cost and output schedule performance.
  • Serve as primary communication vehicle between leadership team and production team.
  • Design and lead projects to support a culture of continuous improvement and OPEX: Manage MDI
  • Responsible for training and developing team members and assuring that all employees understand how to perform the job in a safe manner to quality and productivity standards.
  • Ensure team compliance with policies, procedures, and work rules, including discipline for noncompliance.

Qualifications:

  • Remanufacturing knowledge preferred.
  • Work involves activities that require special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts, machines, welders or vehicles.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of manufacturing experience, preferably in a leadership role required.
  • Must be able to work 2nd shift hours.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office with heavy emphasis on Excel.
  • Work requires periodic stooping/bending and frequent walking/standing throughout day.
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience with implementing Lean culture in a manufacturing environment is required.

Base Pay Range: $85,000-$115,000. Total compensation for this role will include an incentive plan.
