About Us


Think Together is a nonprofit organization dedicated to changing the odds for kids through expanded education programs, like afterschool programs, early learning, student services and school improvement.


Opportunity


Interns will be placed with a department in Think Together’s headquarters based on their academic background, professional skills, interests, and goals. Under the mentorship of designated staff members, interns will work both independently and collaboratively with their departments on projects that support Think Together’s mission and operations. Interns will gain a broad understanding of how a particular department functions within the context of a large nonprofit organization and will develop skills and knowledge related to their academic and professional goals. Interns will also have opportunities to attend regular staff speaker series and professional development sessions.


The Production Intern will work with the Production department, which is responsible for designing, producing, and distributing materials and supplies to Think Together’s 400+ California school sites.


Description Of Tasks


  • Support the Production team as needed
  • Participate in Production team meetings, Think Together Home Office meetings, and cross-department meetings as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Purchasing & Production
  • Support Purchasing team in developing a streamlined ordering process for vendor purchases
  • Work with Think Together Print Shop and Warehouse teams to ensure catalog information aligns with their procedures and capabilities
  • Design and build a digital catalog of the most important products in Think Together’s Think Mart internal store using creative suite software programs
  • Work with internal departments and external vendors to ensure accuracy of product details, pricing, and images reflected in catalog


Learning Outcomes


  • Experience designing and producing a digital product while considering the needs of both internal and external stakeholders
  • Understanding of Print Shop, Warehouse, Online Store, and distribution operating procedures
  • Experience communicating with vendors and customers
  • Proficiency with graphic design tools and skills, and an understanding of how graphic design can support product development and branding


Training


  • General employer orientation, which may include safety trainings


Education and Qualifications


  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in progress – Candidates must be at least a rising junior or senior in college, having completed at least 2 years of undergraduate coursework.
  • Passion and enthusiasm for education, nonprofit administration, and/or community service.


Experience with creative suites such as InDesign, Illustrator, or Photoshop
