The Product Owner gathers product requirements from clients, internal stakeholders, and others to ensure that the Scrum team fully understands what is required from a business standpoint. At this level, a Product Owner is fully independent. They have technical domain expertise, can prioritize the team’s work, and clarify any questions/issues coming from the team. They do not need any assistance in carrying out tasks from start to finish. They know how to act in different situations while cooperating with various stakeholders. They provide support and can provide advice regarding the product requirements. The Product Owner is clearly able to identify issues with the team’s plan and escalate accordingly. They involve the stakeholders and/or end-users in the process, inviting them to actively take part in the development of the product, provide constant feedback, and bring new ideas on product features. Certification by a reputable Scrum Training Organization is preferred.
Key Duties/Responsibilities
  • Develop a high level of expertise on the products that you support 10%
  • Serve as the business expert for the Scrum Team, negotiating priorities with business and technical stakeholders. 20%
  • Break down epics into features and create user stories for development teams. 10%
  • Create a relationship with the Scrum Team which fosters mutual respect 10%
  • Build market and tech knowledge that will help you make key decisions 5%
  • Define and maintain the product backlog for products supported. 10%
  • Manage all activities of a Scrum team including but not limited to Daily Stand Ups, Planning, Grooming and Retrospectives. 25%
  • Learn and relay technical concepts dynamically based on the audience 5%
  • Accept completed user stories to ensure work fulfills the defined acceptance criteria. 5%
Qualifications
EDUCATION
  • Bachelor's Degree in in a technical field preferably (Required)
Experience
  • Experience in advertising or big data (Preferred)
  • 3 - 5 years Relevant Experience (Required)
  • Data & Analytics and GIS / Targeting experience (Preferred)
CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSURES
  • Agile certification
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Ability to define and design user features using gained knowledge
  • Previous Advertising or big data experience preferred
  • Ability to engage in problem-solving to solve complex product puzzles
  • Ability to break down technical issues into easily digestible data points
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Ability to be decisive and make product decisions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience managing a Scrum team and backlogs for that team
  • Ability to define product issues and problems and set course for how it should be addressed
  • Full understanding of Agile principles, with Agile certification
Additional Information
Base salary: $90,000-$110,000
Position is eligible for a 10% annual bonus incentive program.
The ultimate compensation offered for the position will depend upon several factors such as skill level, cost of living, experience, and responsibilities.
