Job Description
Cultivarium is a focused research organization with a mission to accelerate the adoption of new organisms for biotechnology. We are looking for experts who can contribute both individually and as part of a team to create tangible solutions for a ‘moonshot’ project. This is a great opportunity to be part of a close-knit, driven team of scientists and engineers that are building technological infrastructure for non-model microorganisms, to open new avenues for science, technology, medicine and agriculture.

We are looking for a Product Manager to develop the Cultivarium Portal, a one-stop digital repository for microbiologists to find information, data, and citations about non-model microbes. You will serve as the glue between external users and Cultivarium staff to collect feedback, distill them into key priorities, and articulate product requirements into actionable items for internal software engineers and scientists. We are searching for a candidate who is exceptionally organized, has strong communication skills, a track record in product development, and is a great team player. This role can be remote with a preference for annual or bi-annual in-person team meetings on-site, and may require occasional meeting times outside of common local working hours to interact with a global network of external users.

Responsibilities

  • Assess outcomes or user feedback and user satisfaction for trends, and proactively anticipate user needs
  • Drive product development and coordinate company resources (engineers, scientists, design, legal, etc.), while maintaining team health
  • Consistently demonstrate initiative and execute with limited oversight
  • Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, inclusion, and cultural awareness through actions, interactions, and communications with others
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to drive product vision, define success metrics, define product requirements, establish timelines for deliverables, develop roadmaps, and guide the team through key milestones
  • Report, log, and track bugs and regression testing after bug fixes. Lead user acceptance testing as needed
  • Organize, translate, and package user feedback data in consumable formats catered to various key stakeholders (engineers, design, leadership, etc.)
  • Perform market research and track industry trends to identify opportunities for innovation and growth
  • Lead and guide internal meetings and discussions to achieve consensus for roadmap execution
  • Understand Cultivarium’s strategic and competitive position, and deliver products that are aligned with our mission and recognized as best in the industry
  • Analyze metrics that inform the success of products. Identify and track key performance metrics. Drive decision-making through user insights, quantitative analysis, and AB testing as needed

Qualifications

  • Experience navigating through the full product life-cycle, integrating customer feedback into product requirements, driving prioritization, and pre/post-launch execution
  • Experience working collaboratively with diverse functional units in a company, including engineering, design, and users
  • Experience presenting to executive audiences
  • Critical thinking/analytical leadership experience
  • Clear and concise written and spoken communication in English
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
Advanced qualifications

  • Experience in a digital product at a technology company
  • Degree in biomedical engineering, genetics, microbiology or related scientific fields
  • Experience building 0-1 products, platform/ecosystem products, or marketplaces
  • Ability to create webpages for prototyping or A/B testing through programmatic or no-code platforms
We offer

  • Excellent medical, dental, and vision insurance through a PPO plan; parental leave
  • An opportunity to change the world and work with some of the smartest and the most talented experts from different fields
  • Generous time off + paid holidays
  • Wellness allowance for fitness and wellness activities
