Job Description

Job Title:Product Designer

Location:REMOTE (Travelling 15-20% if needed to MA)

Contract:12 months

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Depth of experience in user-centered design, including usability and accessibility. Experience with creating data visualizations is a plus.
  • Depth of experience in design best practices, including a deep understanding of web-based mobile and responsive web technologies, Angular, JAVA, Android and iOS.
  • Depth of knowledge of visual design fundamentals including layout, color, typography, and digital design fundamentals including light/dark mode and localization.
  • Conversant in the product lifecycle (Ideate, Evaluate, Develop, Launch)
  • Able to lead by example when presenting work, elevating user experience standards, and setting expectations on how individual contributors should “show up.”
  • Masterful navigation of competing priorities and demands within a growing and evolving, rapid-paced work environment.
  • Deep industry experience is nice to have, e.g. healthcare, wellness, medical device experience, especially diabetes device or application experience.
  • Hands-on experience creating design, mockups and rapid prototyping required and expected. • Preference given to individual who has experience designing, developing and launching data visualization and interactive solution with reports within healthcare industry.
  • Training or experience in User Experience Design, Interaction Design, Information Architecture, or Human Factors preferred
  • 5-7 years of experience as a hands-on Product Designer on a high-paced product-focused team.
  • A portfolio you can share and discuss that demonstrates your design practice and background of seeing projects through the full product life cycle, and experience with modern design and prototyping software/tools (like Figma, Sketch etc).
  • Highly adept at presenting work in ways that best convey your solutions, e.g. wireframes, prototypes, final designs, mockups.
  • Experience working with product teams in highly-technical domains involving data and hardware constraints.
  • Experience with Human Factors Engineering, analysis, and reporting is nice to have.
  • Experience with JIRA and Confluence
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication, and presentation skills.
  • A dedication to learning and building comprehensive knowledge of the diabetes industry and healthcare space-at-large.
  • A fearless and focused approach to execution. Executes quickly with limited guidance and can project manage large working groups independently.


Responsibilities:

In this role, you will be responsible for leading product design initiatives, and hands-on developing meaningful solutions for highly complex user problems faced by people living with diabetes and health systems/clinics.

In this high-visibility role, we are seeking a creative individual who is deeply committed to crafting exceptional user experiences, product design, data visualization solution and high fidelity mock-ups that help can cultivate influence, and create strong innovative solutions across the organization and externally. U.S. Connected Care Product Design, Innovation and Solution Essential Duties and Responsibilities a. Leading end-to-end design projects by translating broad need statements from healthcare professionals into meaningful data and visualization design solutions. b. Developing a deep understanding and empathy for people living with diabetes and healthcare providers and leveraging that feedback to advocate for product refinement/improvement. c. Building strong and collaborative partnerships with Product Managers, Medical leaders, Marketing, and Engineering to craft thoughtful solutions, ensuring all are aligned on who the primary user is, their needs, and the team's mission. d. Designing at various resolutions– from mock-ups, and high-fidelity designs to interactive or functional code-based prototypes that can be handed to partner for development. e. Supporting exploratory research and usability testing with customers and development centres in coordination with Product Managers, Medical leaders and cross functional teams and synthesizing and translating findings to inform product decisions. f. Cultivating personal relationships external to the organization. Frequent external engagement with partners, users, and customers independently is expected. g. Building connections with internal and external areas of expertise in order to scale work, grow design team capabilities, and advocate for new tools and processes. h. Creating and delivering substantive, impactful, and persuasive communications and presentations to share your work. leveraging data, storytelling, and visual design to bring stakeholders along. i. Project managing working team(s) independently by developing excellent work plans and delegating effectively through clear direction on resources, stakeholders, dependencies, and realistic timing. You are able to adjust work plans to keep projects on track, drive implementation after a project ends, and look for additional ways to provide impact. j. Setting the example of how to solicit and provide feedback within your team(s), across other teams, or with other leaders of the organization. k. Participating in design and product planning, innovation sprint planning, standups, UX workshop sessions, and when requested, new employee recruitment and hiring. l. Implementing, maintaining, and utilizing Design Systems where possible.
