JOB DESCRIPTION

Howard Medical, a division of Howard Technology Solutions located in Ellisville, Mississippi, is seeking to hire a Product Designer in the New Product Development group. The Product Designer will be responsible for design ideation, industrial design, and CAD modeling for new mobile and stationary medical workstation and telemedicine products.

PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES INCLUDE:

• Ergonomic design studies, analysis, and implementation
• Renders and product illustrations for marketing
• Prototyping and verification of designs
• Present design concepts to management and other departments
• CAD modeling of products and components
• Product, market, and trends research
• Design ideation and concepts (sketches, modeling, etc.)

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Excellent communication skills
• Associate’s degree in Engineering Technology, CAD Modeling/Drafting, or equivalent; or Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design or similar design-focused field
• Experience designing parts for injection mold, die casting, and sheet metal processes
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a product designer
• Able to work independently, follow instruction, and handle multiple tasks
• Organized & methodical, with close attention to detail
• Computer literate in Windows environment, using MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Demonstrated ability of conceptual design using computer assisted design/drafting equipment and software, as well as being able to perform design analysis (portfolio desired)
• Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar CAD suite

DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

• Proficiency with image editing
• Experience with additive manufacturing
• Knowledge of rendering and 3D animation is a plus
• Experience with ergonomic design
