Job Summary
Inspects and evaluates garments in terms of brand and quality to determine market value and prices according to guidelines. Monitors tagging operation to insure timely availability of textiles for shipping. MANAGEMENT POSITION $16.00 PER HOUR PLUS BENEFITS

Essential Job Functions
  • Conducts semi-annual timing for sheltered employees under supervision.
  • In the absence of his/her supervisor, follows, enforces and provides training to ensure that all safety policies, rules and regulations are followed. Completes and submits any necessary forms and/or reports immediately, but no longer than within 24 hours, when an incident occurs. Maintains current certifications in First Aid and CPR and administers First Aid and CPR as required.
  • Pulls all salvage and out of category from hanging garments.
  • Is directly involved in meeting with Textile Sorters to insure quality of garments being sorted.
  • Initiates/maintains records of attendance on lead hanger, hangers, taggers, lead shipper and shipping clerk.
  • Checks supplies and orders in a timely manner to insure no delays in production.
  • Visually inspects garments and evaluates in terms of brand and quality to determine market value.
  • Supervises Hangers to insure time schedule and proper hanging procedures for categories are maintained.
  • Interviews, trains, evaluates and directs personnel assigned to the department.
  • Monitors Steam Cabinet Operator for safe operations and reports any unsafe actions to Processing Coordinator immediately.
  • Responsible for general housekeeping in work area.
  • Directs taggers and monitors their work flow to insure store shipments are filled per schedule.
  • Records behaviors and work ethics for trainees assigned to the department.
  • Prices according to set guidelines.

Other Requirements
  • On-the-job training (serving as learner or trainee on the job under the instruction of a qualified worker). Essential experience in other jobs (serving in less responsible jobs which lead to the higher grade job or serving in other jobs which qualify). Over 30 days up to and including 3 months.
  • Must maintain compliance with Goodwill’s Drug and Alcohol Abuse Policy.
  • Goodwill considers this a safety sensitive position because it includes tasks or duties that Goodwill reasonably believes could affect the safety and health of the employee or others.
Physical Requirements
  • Lifting/Carrying/Pushing/Pulling: Medium Work: Lifting 50 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
  • Talking, hearing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, fingering, acuity-near and depth perception.
