Job Description

“We have an excellent opportunity for an AVP of Credit Administration to join our team!”

Primary Duties:

The AVP of Credit Administration is responsible for the oversight and monitoring of the Credit Union’s loan risk management, asset recovery, and loan administration activities and will ensure adequate monitoring of the loan portfolio, to include overall performance, changes in risk characteristics, sufficient reserves for credit losses, adherence to underwriting guidelines, compliance with loan policies, managing the concentration limits and elevating the member loan experience.

This position provides risk management oversight of credit analysis, reporting, and managing the data to provide individual and macro risk analysis, credit monitoring, and communication of the trends and results with senior leaders.

The AVP of Credit Administration will oversee the Credit Union’s Credit Risk Committee while partnering closely with key stakeholders in lending, data team, accounting, finance, and asset recovery. This position assures compliance with all loan policies, as well as applicable state and federal regulations. The individual in this position is expected to stay current on economic trends that could have an impact on the Credit Union’s loan portfolio, and will centralize and oversee loan administration across consumer, real estate, and commercial lending to drive process improvements and operational efficiencies.

Provides leadership to foster a creative, high-performing, and collaborative work environment that reflects and advances the Credit Union’s culture, vision, and values, and supports business objectives.

Qualifications

Must-haves:

  • Project a professional, business-like image and manner at all times when representing the creditunion.
  • Minimum 5 years credit administration experience.
  • Ability to negotiate effectively and consistently motivate and influence others.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics, or other related discipline required.
  • Flexibility to deal with unexpected events, attend meetings and events that may occur outside of regularly scheduled work hours.
  • Minimum 10 years progressive experience in consumer and real estate lending.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral) to determine needs and to communicate ideas effectively at all organizational levels.
  • Thorough working knowledge of credit union loan products and services,
  • Proficient in use of personal computer, particularly word processing and spreadsheet programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Maintain high standards in areas of security, accuracy, thoroughness, completeness and neatness of documentation, system input, correspondence, system upgrades and system testing.
  • Ability to lead and facilitate meetings, vendor interviews, and presentations with various size groups.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, initiative, and tact in all decisions, and to maintain high levels ofconfidentiality dealing with members and staff.
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to manage large data sets, synthesize data, articulate key findings, and collaborate with management and internal stakeholders to develop a data driven story.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and ability to interpret and apply Advantis’ risk guidelines, policies and procedures related to credit risk management, and all applicable state and federal rules and regulations.
  • Extensive knowledge of financial loan products and services.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience managing teams; demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Ability to source, analyze and interpret data and understand and communicate the information to various teams across the credit union.
  • Consistently maintain composure under pressure and display a positive demeanor.
  • Strong analytical skills required.
