Job Description
General:
Leads and supervises the site’s debone processes for all products manufactured at 300-employee poultry processing facility. Promotes food safety and GMP awareness and education of employees. Manages the team’s safety performance, quality of work, and achievement of production goals within the process area. The position reports to the production manager w/ primary work schedule of Tues. – Fri. day shift, with flexibility to work early shift, overtime, and weekends, as needed.
Specific Duties / Responsibilities:
  • Provide input and help drive food safety procedures/ best practices in on-going housekeeping, sanitation, & waste removal
  • Partner with quality team and USDA to ensure product quality meets requirements of food safety compliance
  • Work closely with maintenance to coordinate support to repairs, PM’s, equipment set up, and tear down
  • Review, approve, and submit weekly time & attendance data for payroll processing and performance management
  • Manage/ coordinate completion of required training for team members (process, safety, quality)
  • Work closely with HR in the selection of talent for both internal and external positions
  • Ensure all processes are operated in a safe and compliant manner
  • Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned
  • Lead / manage performance of 20 - 25-member team in poultry processing facility
Requirements
Education: Associates degree in technical field or equivalent work experience
Experience: Min. of 2 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing / industrial related field Food processing experience (poultry preferred/not required)
Skills/Abilities/Attributes:
  • Excellent communication, solid interpersonal and presentation skills;
  • Leadership experience in a manufacturing /industrial environment
  • Working knowledge & solid understanding of food safety regulations and quality systems (required)
  • Team player; able to work in fast-paced environment w/ minimum supervision
Physical Requirements:
  • Work safely in hot, cold, wet environment e.g. 35-40 / 100 degrees
  • Able to assist team members on process line
  • Stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, stoop up to 10 hrs./shift
  • Lift / move up to 35 lbs.; occasionally 50 lbs.
