JOB TITLE: Process Improvement Manager
- Reports directly to Director of Business Operations
- Evaluate and analyze current process improvement frameworks and operational processes for efficiency and effectiveness, spanning from Seed to Sale.
- Identify and recommend improvements to performance metrics and tracking systems
- Improve interdepartmental communications and decision-making processes by streamlining departmental leader involvement and information flow
- Collaborate with Data & IT departments to design and implement scalable solutions that increase visibility into key metrics while balancing the impact on operations
- Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure all operational processes comply with applicable regulations and guidelines
- Analyze industry trends and best practices to identify new process improvement opportunities and keep abreast of changes in the regulatory environment.
- Perform operational audits and reviews including but not limited to time studies and changeovers from one product or batch to another; to ensure production process’ and equipment to ensure adherence to established processes and identify improvement
- Update SOPs as changes to policy and/or regulations occur and ensure compliance among team
- Develop and maintain process improvement frameworks, including the development of training and educational materials to improve staff knowledge on usage of frameworks
- Promote a culture of quality and change management
- Monitor and report progress on process improvement initiatives to senior leadership
- Oversee QC/QA Technician work product, review root cause analyses, approve or revise corrective actions; elevate to senior leadership in the event of non-adherence
- Other duties and special projects as assigned
- Lead problem solving activities with departmental leaders to drive quality control improvement and process improvements
- Develop and implement improvement initiatives for cross-functional teams to increase productivity, reduce costs, and enhance the quality of products and services.
- Able to accurately follow specific direction in a strictly regulated facility
- Capable of being on one’s feet for some of the day
- Must be capable of handling multiple tasks at any given time
- Associates or Bachelor’s Degree Required
- Analytical skills/mindset and experience with Excel, Office Suite, and Google Drive
- 2+ years of cannabis industry experience
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
- In-depth knowledge of METRC or able/eager to learn new software (JIRA)
- Have genuine and positive energy
- High attention to detail, excellent work ethic, reliability, and professionalism
- Possess valid driver’s license or state ID.
- Ability to work nights, holidays and weekends.
- Must pass all required background checks.
- Must be and remain compliant with any and all legal or company regulations for working in the Legal Cannabis industry.
- Occasionally exposed to noise levels loud enough to potentially require employees to wear hearing protection, reasonable accommodation available upon request
- Frequently working within rooms with warm temperature levels, fumes, vibration, etc., enough to cause minor discomfort, oily/wet conditions, reasonable accommodation available upon request.
- Minimum of 21 years of age.
- This job function may include being in a stationary position or moving for extended periods of time potentially for the entire work shift.
- Occasionally move up to 30+ pounds of equipment/materials/product within rooms (100 pounds with assistance).
