DJJ is committed to the success of its transformation plan to bring a balanced approach of comprehensive services that prevent and reduce juvenile delinquency through partnerships with families, schools, communities, law enforcement, and other agencies.

This position will provide domestic and delinquent intake services, and juvenile probation and parole supervision. Will also provide effective interventions and services for competency development and accountability to promote juvenile behavioral change and public safety.

Minimum Qualifications

At a minimum, selected candidates must possess the following:
  • Ability to interpret and apply laws, regulations, guidelines and procedures
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Word
  • Knowledge and/or experience of the criminal justice system to include court proceedings
  • Knowledge and ability to identify community resources and human service agencies to support families.
  • Knowledge of interviewing and counseling techniques
  • Knowledge and ability to assess needs and to develop case plans
  • Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing including the creation of written reports
  • A valid driver’s license is required or the ability to obtain by the date of hire

Additional Considerations

Additional considerations include the following:
  • Experience with community programming
  • Experience working with juveniles and their families.
