Job Description

Founded in 2017, Seven Hills Capital (“SHC”) was formed to partner with lower middle-market management teams operating within various healthcare services niches and seeking to add the scale necessary to compete in today’s environment. Led by previous operators and private equity professionals, Seven Hills brings a ‘business builder’ mentality that focuses on developing companies, rather than building investment portfolios. In short, we target to work directly with management teams of 5-6 companies at a time allowing us to serve as an extension of our Partner Companies.

We believe our approach is attractive to managers and entrepreneurs who want a strategic financial partner to help grow their company but have not reached the size or scale to work with a middle market investment firm. Our Partner companies have chosen to work with us in order to augment their management team, analyze strategic investments, quantify their strategic plan, add infrastructure, properly capitalize their business, and grow cash flow either organically or through acquisitions.

Currently, SHC has partnered with four healthcare management teams at Reliable Medical Supply, VersiCare Group, Associates in Pediatric Therapy, and ExperCARE. In addition to these four partnerships, Seven Hills has completed dozens of add-on acquisitions and continues to evaluate new business relationships that present business building opportunities. As thematic healthcare investors, we’re targeting a limited number of niche sub-sectors that we have identified as logical industries for our approach, also which are often overlooked by traditional private equity investors. More specifically, we typically seek to invest in companies with $2 – $20 million of EBITDA across sectors including Behavioral Health, Medical Wellness, Provider & Outsourced Services, Medical Staffing, Post-Acute Care, and Medical Equipment.

Private Equity Associate Roles and Responsibilities:

Given increased opportunities and portfolio momentum, we are seeking to add an investment assoiate to our team. Our small investment team fosters an extremely entrepreneurial environment that requires strong communication and teamwork. As only the fourth member of our investment team, the role offers an opportunity to become integral to our daily operations, investment analyses, and decision-making for current and future partnerships at Seven Hills Capital. The position is based in Nashville, Tennessee.

  • Engage with third-party due diligence providers to ensure timeliness of reports and articulate its finding to potential investment partners or management teams.
  • Draft and present investment memos detailing transactions, companies, and industries.
  • Contribute to investment reporting activities with limited partners and agencies, as required.
  • Provide hands-on support to select partner management teams to execute strategic plans and support finance initiatives on an as needed basis.
  • Screen potential deal opportunities, evaluating a target’s potential attractiveness as an investment.
  • Play an active support role in the implementation of various value creation strategies for partnered companies.
  • Perform primary and secondary research with respect to a target’s industry, including analysis of competitors, vendors, and customers.
  • Perform extensive modeling to value the target, including leveraged buyout analysis, comparable company and transaction analysis, and other valuation techniques.

Candidate Qualifications:

SHC seeks to hire someone who is highly motivated, knowledgeable and has established experience in M&A or business strategy. This candidate needs to be comfortable working in fairly uncertain environments that require them to ask good questions, make informed decisions, manage time effectively, and communicate often but thoughtfully.

The successful candidate in this process should have a track record of prior M&A or investment experience. They should also have strong knowledge of business strategy, finance and accounting, and transaction structure in lower middle-markets. Further qualifications include:

  • Deep interest in healthcare services business building.
  • 2+ years of experience in investment banking, consulting, transaction advisory services, private equity, or debt investing.
  • Possess demonstratable deal experience that shows ability to manage transaction processes, work alongside management teams, sound judgement and analytical aptitude.
