Job Description

A Private Credit firm is seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join their team as a Private Credit Associate. As a Private Credit Associate, you will play a critical role in supporting the firm's investment activities and contributing to the overall success of the company. Your expertise in financial analysis, deal sourcing, and relationship management will be instrumental in expanding the portfolio and establishing the firm as a leader in the industry. The firm has been around for decades and has north of $9 Billion AUM.


Private Credit Associate Responsibilities:

  1. Investment Analysis: Conduct thorough analysis and due diligence on potential investment opportunities, including financial modeling, market research, industry analysis, and risk assessment. Provide detailed investment recommendations to senior team members.
  2. Deal Execution: Assist in the execution of new investments, including deal structuring, negotiating terms and conditions, and preparing investment documentation. Coordinate with legal, finance, and operations teams to ensure smooth transaction processes.
  3. Portfolio Management: Support the ongoing management of the firm's investment portfolio, including monitoring financial performance, conducting regular valuation analysis, and identifying value creation opportunities. Collaborate with portfolio company management teams to drive growth and operational improvements.
  4. Market Research: Stay abreast of industry trends, competitive landscapes, and emerging market opportunities. Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential investment themes and target companies.
  5. Financial Modeling and Analysis: Develop and maintain complex financial models to evaluate investment opportunities and track portfolio performance. Conduct sensitivity analyses, scenario planning, and investment return analysis.
  6. Investment Reporting: Assist in the preparation of investment presentations, reports, and other communication materials for internal and external stakeholders. Present findings and recommendations to senior team members and investors as required.
  7. Team Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with other team members, including investment professionals, analysts, and support staff. Participate in team meetings, contribute to investment discussions, and share insights and knowledge.


Private Credit Associate Qualifications:

  1. Education: Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, economics, or a related field. A Master's degree in business administration (MBA) or a CFA designation is a plus.
  2. Experience: Previous experience in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, or corporate finance is highly desirable. Exposure to healthcare services, technology-enabled services, or specialty finance sectors is advantageous.
  3. Financial Acumen: Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, with a solid understanding of financial statements, valuation methods, and investment concepts. Proficiency in Excel and financial modeling software is essential.
  4. Research and Due Diligence: Excellent research and due diligence skills, with the ability to gather and synthesize information from various sources. Experience in conducting market research and industry analysis is preferred.
  5. Communication and Presentation: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present complex ideas and investment recommendations. Attention to detail and the ability to produce high-quality reports and presentations.
  6. Team Player: Proven ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment. Willingness to contribute to the success of the team and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
  7. Professionalism and Integrity: Demonstrated high ethical standards, professionalism, and integrity in all aspects of work. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
