Our company invites applications for a Sr. Research Scientist/Principal Scientist position in Personal Care, based in Piscataway, NJ location.

The candidate will be responsible for leading product development and implementation of new formulations and providing technical support for the Cleansing & Care portfolio in personal care products.

Responsiblities:

• Strategy contributer by understanding critical technical requirements in terms of the experimental design, measurement science and formulation to develop an overall project plan that fulfills the business objectives.
• The candidate must be able to work effectively on cross-functional teams that include partners from Marketing, Supply Chain, Insights and Quality.
• A qualified candidate must be able to independently manage multiple technical projects concurrently and effectively utilize both internal and external resources to achieve project objectives.
• Specific activities include formula optimization, validation, scale-up, in conjunction with Supply Chain, and implementation

Required Qualifications:

• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Technical understanding of organic and irorganic chemistry and related science fields
• Self-motivated and able to work well within a dynamic team environment
• Knowledge of polymer chemistry, material science, surfactant/colloid chemistry, and/or analytical sciences
• Masters or Doctoral Degree in Chemistry, Engineering or Related fields
• Able to multi-task and manage multiple projects concurrently
• 5+ years of experience developing and/or implementing consumer products with a PhD or 10+ years with a Masters Degree

Preferred Qualifications:

• Possess excellent interpersonal and team skills; ability to communicate and influence and thrive in a cross functional environment.
• Be a creative problem solver
• Possess technical knowledge in one or more of the following areas: surfactants, active agents, delivery systems, rheology and statistics/experimental design
• Possess strong project planning/prioritization and management, analytical decision making and organizational skills
• Understand industry/competitive trends, claim substantiation and regulatory requirements for EU cosmetic product

Salary Range $100,000 - $147,000 USD

Pay is based on several non discriminatory factors including but not limited to experience, education, skills and office location. In addition to your salary, Colgate-Palmolive offers a performance based bonus and competitive benefits package.
