Prep-Cook Part-time Smuttynose Restaurant SUMMARY Smuttynose Restaurant in Hampton, NH is looking to add to their Back of House team! We are a full-service restaurant and bar featuring Smuttynose beer. You will perform routine kitchen tasks such as setting up workstations and ingredients, so that food can be prepared according to recipes. If you have a passion for restaurant work, at least 1 year of experience, and the drive to be part of a winning team then this could be the job for you. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Follow the prep list created by the Chef and line cooks to plan duties Label and stock all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible Measure ingredients and seasonings to be used in cooking Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat etc Undertake basic cooking duties such as reducing sauces, parboiling food etc. Prepare simple dishes such as salads, fries etc. Work with wait staff to ensure that each order has the proper types and amounts of side dishes Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking trash out etc. Ensure all food and other items are stored properly Comply with nutrition and sanitization guidelines Reporting kitchen accidents or violations of food safety codes and procedures Perform other kitchen duties as assigned POSITION/SKILLS REQUIREMENTS Work well in a team environment Communication skills Ability to follow all safety and sanitation standards and procedures Responsible and dependable Ability to stand for long periods of time Ability to lifts up to 50lbs Patience with the ability to stay calm and positive under pressure Ability to follow directions Night and weekend availability is a must!
