Sony Semiconductor Solutions America (SSS-A) is seeking a PR and Communication Manager for its Aitrios platform business group. Sony Aitrios is a newly developed platform that provides deep integration of key functions and control of cameras and devices allowing camera manufacturers, AI developers, application developers, system integrators and industry customers a simplified and quicker way to add visual AI/ML data to applications and solutions.
DISCLAIMER:
The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $109,000.00 to 146,000.00. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
Roles and Responsibilities
This individual has responsibility for PR strategy, media outreach, and management and direction of SSS-A PR Agency
  • BU/executive management and confidence building: High touch, high service to internal clients (BU and execs) this includes: prepping for press meetings, events; demos, etc
  • Liaise with Corporate Communications in at Sony North America, Japan and EU to ensure messaging and activities align globally. Also develop and sustain contacts/relationships with sister cos and other key partners (i.e. Microsoft). Strategically plan cross company opportunities as part of total plan.
  • Work with and manage external PR agency; includes strategy and execution plan development, execution to achieve establishing Aitrios as a recognized leader in key industries.
  • Budget management- forecast accuracy, PO and IO creation, on-time submission.
  • Collaborate cross-category and cross-department to ensure messaging and activities are unified across products and touch points.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with top-tier press, bloggers and influencers in key technology industries
  • Manage media review and loan programs for all products within Aitrios business team to secure positive editorial coverage for all Aitrios products. This includes planning media tours and pre-briefings as well as maintaining product review program post-launch.
  • Create content for baseline public relations activities including press release writing, speech and presentation development, review guides, etc.
  • Plan and execute product launch plans and activities including strategy, goals, budget and tactics.
  • Provide strategic counsel to executives and crisis communications guidance and execution.
PR Events
  • Create, coordinate and manage press-specific events to promote product launches, pitches and promotions. This includes all aspects of event including agency, events teams, etc…
  • Partner with Corporate Communications to develop and execute ongoing PR events such as roundtables, analyst events, product showcases, etc.
  • Support trade shows with media activities, including broadcast interviews, press dinners, press conference speech writing and executive interviews.
Minimum Qualifications
  • The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years’ experience as a PR and Communication manager in the B2B, SaaS, PaaS software and platform industries and have a successful track record of helping newly established businesses get industry exposure and recognition.
  • Have relationship with key trade publications press, analyst, application developer and AI/ML developer communities and influencers.
  • Role may travel up to 20% – likely seasonal based on key events/shows
  • Additional experience working cooperatively with large strategic partnerships and their PR and Coms teams (i.e. Microsoft).

  • Collaboration amongst key stakeholders, and internal teams
  • Added experience in the following industries: Retail, Industrial/Factory, Facilities and Supply Chain Management is a plus.
  • Japanese language skills a plus
  • Creativity - Comes up with a lot of new and unique ideas, Easily makes connections among previously unrelated notions, Tends to be seen as original and value-added in brainstorming settings
