Job Description
Location: Hickory, North Carolina or Remote


The PowerCampus Applications Support Specialist reports to the CIO. The role of the Specialist is to assist LR in managing, supporting and providing ongoing optimization systems (technical and functional) at the university that interface to PowerCampus. This is a highly technical position and the ideal candidate must have the technical depth and be able to work independently, provide leadership and support.


Essential Job Duties


  • Assisting with the evaluation of third-party software and hardware to determine usefulness and compatibility with PowerCampus
  • Providing client liaison and technical support for PowerCampus and other administrative applications including system configuration and usage guidance to the administrative user community
  • Providing systems analysis, problem solving support, and necessary programming support to provide efficient and effective use of administrative information systems in support of Client's goals and objectives
  • Managing integration between PowerCampus and third-party systems
  • Working collaboratively with other campus stakeholders to meet data reporting needs
  • Meeting with users and staff to determine the impact of proposed changes in hardware or software for users
  • Acting as a strong leader providing good customer relationship skills and presence in managing the client's ongoing evolution of its modernization efforts
  • Managing and optimizing PowerCampus ERP and associated administrative systems
  • Providing change management, communication planning, testing procedures, and programming documentation of all administrative systems
  • Ensuring and managing data quality, integrity and accuracy across systems
  • Creating report dashboards and reports for campus leadership and departmental use
  • Supporting departmental staff and administration with the identification, evaluation, selection, support and maintenance of systems solutions
  • Providing deep data analysis and business intelligence to support institution's strategic goals
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned


Qualifications


  • Experience working with various college departments in collaborative and supportive way
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or 5-7 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience


Knowledge, Skills And Abilities


  • Experience with managing Web Services.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrable expertise and experience with MS SQL programming and SQL Server administration
  • Demonstrable expertise and experience with data modeling, analysis, business intelligence
  • Experience with, Enterprise systems include, but not limited to, CRM, Canvas LMS, StarRez, Slate and, Raisers Edge, Cashnet, etc.
  • Ellucian PowerCampus experience- both functional and technical (preferred)
  • Demonstrable expertise and experience with reporting tools such as SSRS, Power BI, Data Driven Subscription, etc.
  • Experience with ERP integration with third-party systems using APIs, SFTP, Powershell scripting, etc.


Physical Abilities


  • This position is generally sedentary in nature, movement throughout the area is required from time to time
  • Ability to have continuous oral and written communication with co-workers and supervisors is essential


Work Environmental


  • May need to work extended hours and/or weekends (remote or on campus)
  • Meeting regularly with campus functional leads to discuss progress of work, resolve problems, and ensure that standards for quality and quantity of work are met
