We are currently looking for a Power BI Developer to join an opportunity we are working in Winchester, VA. Federal Client requires US citizenship.
As a Power BI Developer/Report Writer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering interactive and insightful data visualizations using Microsoft Power BI. You will work closely with business stakeholders and data analysts to understand their reporting needs and requirements, and then translate them into visually appealing and meaningful dashboards, reports, and interactive visualizations. You will also be responsible for data modeling, data integration, and data transformation tasks using Power BI, as well as troubleshooting and resolving any technical issues related to Power BI reports and dashboards.
Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with business stakeholders and data analysts to gather reporting requirements and translate them into interactive and meaningful Power BI dashboards, reports, and visualizations.
• Monitor and analyze the performance and effectiveness of Power BI reports and make recommendations for improvements.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and best practices in Power BI development and data visualization techniques.
• Create and maintain data models and data connections in Power BI to ensure accurate and efficient data retrieval and visualization.
• Develop, design, and implement Power BI reports and dashboards using best practices in data visualization and data modeling techniques.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to Power BI reports and dashboards, including data connectivity, data accuracy, and performance optimization.
• Perform data transformation and data integration tasks using Power Query, Power Pivot, and other Power BI tools.
• Provide training and support to business stakeholders on how to effectively use Power BI reports and dashboards.

Education + Experience:

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Power BI, including Power Query, Power Pivot, and Power BI Desktop.
• Experience in data integration and data transformation tasks using Power BI tools.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
• Solid understanding of data modeling concepts and experience in designing efficient and scalable data models using Power BI.
• Federal Client requires US citizenship.
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in Power BI development and report writing, including designing and developing interactive and meaningful data visualizations.
• BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar degree.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with business stakeholders, data analysts, and other IT professionals.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
• Knowledge of SQL and data warehousing concepts.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand complex business requirements and translate them into visually appealing and meaningful Power BI reports.
• Experience with data visualization best practices and principles, including color theory, data storytelling, and data visualization design patterns.
• Familiarity with other data visualization and reporting tools, such as Tableau, QlikView, or Looker, is a plus.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
