Job Description
Overview / Responsibilities:
Wood is currently recruiting for a Senior Microsoft Power BI Developer within our Life Sciences business. As a Senior Power BI Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing comprehensive business intelligence solutions using Microsoft Power BI. You will work closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements, analyze data, and deliver actionable insights to drive informed decision-making.

Wood is currently assembling some of the best talent for our Life Sciences teams within our Philadelphia, PA and Morrisville, NC offices to develop life-changing and in many cases, life-saving solutions for our clients.

**Fully remote US based candidates will also be considered.

On a global scale, Wood serves the Life Sciences, Oil & Gas, Federal, Infrastructure, Manufacturing, Mining, and Power Industries. Our Philadelphia office has become the Center of Excellence for our global Life Sciences network, providing full-service pharmaceutical and biotechnology engineering, design, procurement, and project management services.
Skills / Qualifications:
Required Skills
  • Optimize performance and usability of Power BI reports and dashboards by tuning queries, implementing efficient data models, and applying best practices.
  • Create and maintain data connections and ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into Power BI.
  • Ensure data security and compliance standards are met by implementing appropriate security measures and access controls within Power BI.
  • Stay up to date with the latest trends and advancements in Power BI and related technologies, and proactively apply them to enhance the overall BI solution.
  • Design and develop end-to-end business intelligence solutions using Microsoft Power BI, including data modeling, data integration, and report/dashboard creation.
  • Develop complex Power BI data models to enable accurate and efficient data analysis and visualization.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and design efficient and visually appealing Power BI reports and dashboards.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to integrate Power BI with other systems and data sources, including on-premises and cloud-based platforms.
  • Conduct data profiling and analysis to identify data quality issues, inconsistencies, and anomalies, and work with stakeholders to address them.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior Power BI developers, assisting them in solving complex problems and improving their skills.

Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in SQL for data manipulation and analysis.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve data-related issues.
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL processes, and data integration techniques.
  • Familiarity with data security and compliance standards, and the ability to implement appropriate security measures within Power BI.
  • Proven experience as a Power BI Developer, with a strong focus on building end-to-end BI solutions.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications and design effective Power BI solutions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Excellent data visualization skills, with an eye for detail and a strong focus on usability and user experience.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Power BI, including data modeling, DAX, Power Query, and Power BI service.
  • Experience in working with large and complex datasets from various sources.
