CPS Recruitment is seeking a talented Power BI Developer & Analyst to join a well-respected distributor in the Syracuse, NY area. As a Power BI Developer & Analyst, you will play a crucial role in developing, implementing, and maintaining Power BI reports and dashboards to enhance analytics and decision-making.

Reporting to the Vice President of IT and Operations, you will have the opportunity to grow your career while contributing to the success of the organization

Responsibilities:

• Support and enhance existing Power BI processes and SSRS reports.
• Build and maintain ETL processes and Analysis Services Data Cubes in Microsoft SQL Server.
• Evaluate source data and develop efficient methods for collecting and storing data to facilitate meaningful and insightful analytics.
• Provide training to staff members at all levels on the use of Power BI and any newly developed functionality.
• Design, develop, and test interactive and visually appealing reports, dashboards, and KPIs using Power BI.
• Maintain documentation and instructions for all analytics projects.
• Understand business requirements and propose suitable solutions to meet the organization's needs.
• Implement security best practices to ensure confidential information is segregated and accessible only to authorized team members.
• Analyze and present data to facilitate better decision-making.
• Participate in the investigation and selection of new technology solutions, providing consultation on requirements and building prototypes.
• Collaborate with business teams to design and implement Power BI reports and dashboards that improve analytics and decision-making processes.

Requirements:

• Experience with multi-dimensional data models.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience using the Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Pages, Power Automate, DAX) in an enterprise environment.
• Proficiency in writing and maintaining complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and jobs.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a closely related field.
• Strong knowledge and experience with the Microsoft SQL Server stack, including SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS), and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
• Ability to effectively communicate with all areas of the business to develop requirements and deliver meaningful analytics.
• Possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
