Position Highlights

The Attosecond X-ray Science Lab at the University of Arizona is seeking a post-doctoral researcher to play a leading role in the multi-year project focused on the development and application of charged particle imaging and x-ray spectroscopy techniques on an upcoming Compact X-ray Free Electron Laser (CXFEL) Facility. This position is a year-to-year appointment renewable for up to 4 years, subject to performance and availability of funds.

Duties & Responsibilities

The postdoc will play a leading role on the construction of an AMO end station, centered around a new state-of-the-art tools, such as, Coltrims system, Co-axial VMI, X-ray Photoemission and Transient Absorption Spectrometers. These tools will be commissioned to study attosecond to few-femtosecond correlated electron dynamics, charged migration, coupled electron-nuclear dynamics and interfacial charge transfer dynamics.

Skills and expertise is sought in areas one of several of these areas: Ultrafast Science, Attosecond physics, Coincident electron-ion imaging, Coltrims, Velocity Map Imaging, Photoemission, Attosecond transient absorption, pump-probe spectroscopy, etc.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Candidates should have a PhD in physics or a related field by time of appointment.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in ultrafast science or charged particle imaging research.
