Job Description
The Chemical Sciences and Engineering Division is seeking a Postdoctoral Appointee to mainly conduct research in advanced lithium ion batteries (LIB), including solid state electrolyte and silicon anode.
The candidate will plan and conduct physical, chemical, and electrochemical characterization of silicon electrode and solid state electrolyte materials to understand their stability. The candidate will fabricate electrode and cells and conduct electrochemical testing. The candidate should be familiar with advanced characterization techniques, such as SEM, TEM, XRD, XPS. The candidate should be able to analyze data, prepare manuscripts for submission to peer-reviewed publications, present papers at scientific meetings, and prepare reports and presentations/papers for group meetings.
Position Requirements
  • Deep understanding of electrochemistry, able to conduct the cyclic voltammetry, EIS, and galvanostatic test
  • Proven desire to work in a team-based environment
  • Hands-on experience in a laboratory environment
  • Demonstrated skill in formulating scientific problems
  • Demonstrated skill in written and oral communication
  • Recently completed Ph. D Degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Electrochemistry with 0 to 3 years of experience or equivalent
  • Considerable knowledge of processing and analyzing results
  • Experience in proposing, planning, designing, and implementing experiments
  • Hands-on experience on material characterization, including SEM, Raman, TGA, BET, PSA, et. al
