Polisher - The Aviary

The Alinea Group is looking for a full-time Polisher to join our team! The Polisher is a crucial part of the team to ensure high standards of sanitation and cleanliness for our guests. This is a full-time position, paid hourly, and candidates must be willing to work 40+ hours, 5 days a week.

The Aviary reinvents the cocktail lounge, crafting modernist cocktails that are visually striking, flavorfully complex, and ready to be paired with a delicious pre-fixe or a-la-carte dining experience by The Alinea Group. Venture beneath The Aviary and you will find yourself in The Office, a vintage-inspired speakeasy that holds a rare collection of spirits to be enjoyed in your favorite cocktail or on the rocks. It won the coveted Spirited Award for the World’s Best Cocktail Menu in 2014 and has three times been featured on Drinks International’s The World’s 50 Best Bar list.

Requirements

Responsibilities:

• Breaking down stations at the end of service.
• Wash dishes, glasses, pots and pans by hand or via commercial dish/glass washer
• Removal of garbage and waste to compactors or recycling bins
• Sweep and mop floors, vacuum carpets
• Maintaining the restrooms in service (guest and staff)
• Quickly and safely polishing a wide variety of glassware
• Dry and polish all serviceware, glassware and flatware
• Maintain general cleanliness of dining rooms, kitchens, restrooms and outside areas
• The ability to go up and down stairs with glassware trays
• Report any maintenance deficiencies to appropriate resource

Requirements

• Ability to follow instructions, anticipate needs, and multitask
• Can work individually and within a team environment
• 1 or more year experience of dishwashing or comparable position
• Ability to operate dish machines, cleaning tools and other required equipment safely

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to move, pull or lift at least 35 pounds
• Must be able to climb stairs multiple times per shift
• Must be able to work on your feet for at least 8 hours
