Plumbing Designer/Engineer - Raleigh, NC
Align Engineering is looking for an independent, motivated, hardworking, self-starter to join our growing team! The position is to fill the role of a plumbing designer/engineer and requires 2+ years of experience in plumbing engineering design. A North Carolina professional engineer license, or the ability to obtain one, is not required, but would be helpful. The role would require independently designing plumbing systems for commercial projects from beginning through construction.
Align Engineering is a fast-growing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) engineering firm based in Raleigh, NC. The Align Engineering owners each have 20 years of experience and will be working firsthand with this person in their role.
Align Engineering specializes in commercial, industrial, and multi-family building design. This is an excellent opportunity for candidatesto gain engineering, AutoCAD, and Revit experience in a wide range of markets. Project types consist of commercial office fit-ups, building renovations, medical office, fitness, historic renovation, light industrial, retail, and restaurants.
The candidatewould interact with the Align Engineering team, as well as our clients, such as architects, owners, tenants, brokers, contractors, and inspectors.Professional written and oral communication skills are necessary.
AutoCAD and Revit are used for all aspects of drafting and design. Other typical professional software programs are widely used as well (e.g., Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, etc.)
Other Qualifications:
·2+ years of experience engineering plumbing systems
·Minimum GED required (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree is a plus)
·Attention to detail
·Excellent communication skills
·Highly organized
·Time management and deadline driven work style
·Ability to visit construction sites, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 lbs
·Experience in AutoCAD required
·Experience in Revit is a plus
The job is based in Raleigh, NC and requires a hybrid working environment with both at home and in office work during a standard Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm work week.
