Platform Administrator - System Network Administrator

Looking to hire a Platform Administrator - System Network Administrator for a long term Government project. This is a hybrid position. All candidates must be able to go on-site 3 days a week. Please only apply if you live in the Virginia/Maryland/Washington, DC area.

Skills and Responsibilities

• Ability to quickly learn technologies and products using documentation and internet resources.
• Ability to work with all levels of IT staff inside and outside the organization.
• Knowledge of application transport and network infrastructure protocols.
• Onboard users to the network.
• Oversee digital security.
• Install hardware and software.
• Make upgrades and repairs as needed.
• Installing and configuring networking hardware and software, monitoring network performance and troubleshooting issues, managing network security, planning, and implementing network upgrades.
• Troubleshoot problems with the system.
• Dependable and flexible when necessary.
• Strong understanding of computer network infrastructure.
• Oversee local area network and wide area network.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with local area network and wide area network administration.
• Configure, install new laptop/desktop hardware and software, fixing hardware and software configuration issues for users on-demand.
• Ability to think through problems and visualize solutions.
• Assess agency’s network and computer system needs.
• Perform maintenance that all systems are operating.
• Collect and analyze data to optimize performance.
• Ability to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices.
• Train users in hardware and software.
• Ability to create network diagrams and documentation for design and planning network communication systems.
