Job Description

DuPont’s Water & Protection is recruiting for a Plant Process Control Technician to join its dynamic team located at its manufacturing site in Buffalo, NY. Yerkes Buffalo is the North American manufacturing home of Corian® solid surface products, introduced in 1968 and the founding manufacturing location for Tedlar® polyvinyl fluoride (PVF) films, introduced in 1961.


The Plant Process Control Technician (PPCT) supports the Automation and Process Control systems and provides first contact support to operations, maintenance, and automation engineers. S/he participates in regular and scheduled maintenance activities with vendor/contractor support and other maintenance functions. S/he also participates on improvement teams and implements projects under the direction of the Process Automation Engineer or other engineers in Operations. S/he implements and supports control system best practices under the direction of the Process Automation Engineer and/or other A&PC guidance.


As a Plant Process Control Technician, you will:

  • Execute physical and cyber security maintenance of control systems, including backups, patches and updates.
  • Evaluate risks to ensure safe and reliable plant operations during troubleshooting and maintenance activities on control systems and applications.
  • Ensure all changes follow a Management of Change (MOC) process and are properly tested prior to loading into a production system per plant procedures.
  • Provide first line troubleshooting on process control systems, applications, and infrastructure.
  • Participate in regular and scheduled maintenance activities on Process Automation (PA) systems and infrastructure with vendor/contractor support and other internal and external maintenance functions.
  • Participate on project/improvement teams and implements small projects under the direction of the Process Automation Engineer or other engineers in Operations.
  • Implement and support control system best practices under the direction of the Process Automation Engineer and/or other A&PC guidance (i.e., book of conventions).

Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of instrumentation and electrical installations (Motor Control Centers, etc.).
  • Process Safety Management (High Hazard Process/Low Hazard Operation) experience preferred
  • Effective in understanding automation networks.
  • Corian Line of business experience preferred
  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States; No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position
  • A minimum of a High School diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent is required; 2-year technical/trade school degree is preferred
  • This role is located in Yerkes-Buffalo, NY and may require less than 5% of travel
  • Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and communication skills.

The Pay range for this role is $25.63 - $40.27 Hourly
