Job Description
What To Expect
Tesla is seeking an experienced Maintenance professional with planning/scheduling, CMMS administration and data analytics experience to support the development of Tesla’s Fremont processes and infrastructure. This position will be responsible for CMMS maintenance, routine and shutdown maintenance planning and scheduling and tracking and reporting progress during execution.
The responsibilities for this role will include creating work plans that assure a quality repair can be performed safely and efficiently. This role will determine the proper scope of a job to solve the problem's root cause and how to complete the job. Job scope will include identifying the labor requirements, materials, special tools, equipment, and sequence of job steps required to safely, efficiently, and effectively accomplish a given task.
What You’ll Do
  • Maintain a healthy backlog of maintenance orders waiting to be scheduled per the maintenance order priorities
  • Support the continued development of a scheduling system, it’s ongoing administration, processes, and templates. Develop scheduling metrics, and benchmarks that allow for the standardization of durations used by various stakeholders for planning in early design stages.
  • Maintain task list libraries and bills of material for equipment
  • Serve as CMMS administrator
  • Create work plans to allow efficient scheduling, assignment, contingency planning, and safe execution of work.
  • Determine the resources (materials, tools, labor, equipment, etc.) needed and the potential risks. Identify permits that may be required.
  • Request and coordinate input from technical teams, maintenance technicians, leadership, and others to develop work packages
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of preventive maintenance routines and modify them as needed.
  • Continually look for opportunities to reduce cost through process improvements.
  • Review feedback from the field to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Lead ad-hoc schedule studies that enable rapid decision-making based on tradeoffs between alternatives.
  • In conjunction with operations, maintenance, and technical teams, accurately determine the job's scope to restore the equipment to a safe and reliable state
  • Create and maintain standardized reporting tools for the operation, providing results on the health of the business for various audiences, including senior management
  • Track and summarize schedule performance with other project controls functions and the finance teams.
  • Validate and adjust with stakeholders' feedback, the required maintenance order fields during planning (target dates, priority, function, location, failure code, etc.).
What You’ll Bring
  • Ability to work within a high-performance, cross-functional organization with extremely tight timelines and aggressive goals.
  • Demonstrated problem solving ability in cross-functional environment.
  • Detail-oriented/relentless, willing to find cracks in the system to expose problems
  • Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal.
  • In-depth knowledge of the maintenance work process from work identification through maintenance work order completion, reconciliation, and equipment recommissioning.
  • Advanced PC skills, including CMMS, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Power Bi, Tableau, Microsoft Looker.
  • Comprehensive understanding of construction means and methods in the civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing disciplines.
  • Excellent communication skills and experience communicating and interfacing with all levels of the company and outside contacts
  • Proven record of being able to work independently and proactively engage with business stakeholders with minimal direction
  • Ability to present complex issues in a clear and concise manner
  • 3-5+ years of daily, routine, or project maintenance planning and scheduling experience required.

  • Expected Compensation
    $68,000 - $252,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
