Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Plant Manager with a strong background in heavy industrial manufacturing operations to lead our client’s refractory industrial ceramics facility. As a key member of the management team, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of plant operations, driving efficiency, and ensuring the highest quality standards are met. This role offers a fast track for promotion into senior management for the right candidate.


Responsibilities:

  • Performance Monitoring: Establish performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor plant performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain quality control systems to ensure adherence to industry standards, customer requirements, and regulatory compliance.
  • Supply Chain Management: Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to optimize inventory levels, ensure timely delivery of materials, and maintain effective vendor relationships.
  • Budgeting and Cost Control: Develop and manage the plant's annual budget, monitor expenses, and implement cost-saving initiatives while maintaining operational excellence.
  • Operational Leadership: Provide strategic direction and hands-on leadership to the plant, ensuring smooth operations and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manufacturing Excellence: Oversee the production process, implementing best practices and optimizing manufacturing processes to enhance productivity, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Reporting and Communication: Prepare regular reports on plant performance, present updates to senior management, and facilitate effective communication across departments.
  • Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance: Promote and enforce a safe working environment, ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and implementing operational efficiencies, lean manufacturing principles, and innovative technologies.
  • Team Management: Build and lead a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and employee development.


Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience (minimum 8-10 years) in heavy industrial manufacturing operations, preferably in the refractory industrial ceramics or a related industry.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire cross-functional teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Management, or a related field. An MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and continuous improvement tools.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Proven track record of success as an operations leader, demonstrating the ability to optimize manufacturing processes, improve operational efficiency, and achieve cost and quality targets.
  • Solid understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations in an industrial manufacturing setting.
  • Results-oriented mindset, with a focus on achieving targets and driving organizational growth.


Base salary range: $155,000 to $170,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance-based bonus of 20% of the base salary.
