Why this position is open: We are conducting a confidential search for a Plant Manager. Our client is a National Manufacturing company and industry leader in processing recycled materials.
Position Summary: Manages all activities related to day-to-day operations, including driving continuous improvement, development of company products, focusing on creating a positive customer experience, and maximizing uptime, throughput, and safety compliance either by personal performance or delegating to subordinate supervisors.

- Coordinates manufacturing activities with all other functions of the organization and suppliers to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment.
- Develops a strong, dedicated team environment to support operations and employee work satisfaction.
- Develops and maintains manufacturing operations business plans to include all program requirements, labor hours, cycle, and production costs.
- Manage P&L and operate to budget.
- Work with the sales team to achieve targeted growth objectives, exceed customer expectations, and optimize profitability.
- Ensures full compliance with all applicable EH&S regulatory requirements.
- The Plant Manager is an integral part of the production and will motivate and lead manufacturing crews to ensure safe, productive, reliable manufacturing practices on a daily basis.
- Practices conflict resolution among departments and employees.
- Analyze production metrics and data to determine areas of improvement.
- Measures performance, provides, feedback, and holds employees accountable for their performance.
- Maximize available uptime through the improvement of predictive and preventive maintenance and process improvements.
- Process-oriented and results-oriented in setting and pursuing aggressive goals, demonstrating a strong commitment to organizational success and marshaling resources to accomplish goals and objectives.
- Performs any other duties as assigned.
- Establishes production and quality control standards, key contributor in developing budgets and forecasts, and obtains data regarding types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates of products ordered.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and resolving problems.

- 7 – 10 years of related experience.

- Has strong leadership skills and proven judgment of talent, with an emphasis on hiring and developing high-performing teams.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university, Engineering disciplines preferred.
Work Environment and Schedule: The work environment will be a mix of office and plant floor responsibilities, with a heavy focus on the plant floor. The Plant Manager will be expected to work alongside their team, especially when there are coaching opportunities available or when the plant is experiencing unplanned downtime.
