Job Description

The Pilot is responsible for assisting the Chief Pilot in the planning and execution of all Company flight operations in accordance with Company policies and applicable local, state and federal flight regulations. This position also acts as Pilot-in-Command on Company aircraft.

POSITION DIMENSIONS
This incumbent does not have accountability for people or budgets and reports directly to the Chief Pilot.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) training requirements and proficiency as a Pilot-in-Command and fly Company aircraft in accordance to FAA standards and requirements
  • Assist Chief Pilot in ensuring all contracts for safe aircraft operations and maintenance are prepared, reviewed, budgeted and funded
  • Assist Chief Pilot in maintaining aircraft support subscriptions
  • Assist Chief Pilot in obtaining and maintaining current flight planning materials, emergency procedures manuals, aircraft operational manuals and FAA regulations
  • Assist Chief Pilot in ensuring Company aircraft meets aircraft FAA Certification Requirements, and FAA Air Worthiness Standards for operations by helping coordinate scheduled and unscheduled maintenance with current aircraft manufacturer maintenance facility
  • Assist Chief Pilot in creating and maintaining all passenger safety materials including training
  • Assist Chief Pilot in maintaining serviceability and inventory of critical aircraft support equipment such as hydraulic aircraft jack, hydraulic mule, nitrogen tanks, engine oil, ground power unit (GPU), aircraft electric aircraft tug, and all cleaning and maintenance supplies essential to safe aircraft operation.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is a condition of employment and is an essential function of the job
  • Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned
  • Assist Chief Pilot in overseeing and monitoring the use of qualified temporary pilots
  • Assist Chief Pilot in projecting, preparing annual flight department operating and maintenance budget and providing accurate financial data to Assistant Corporate Secretary/CFO.
  • Assist Chief Pilot in maintaining aircraft hangar and office space. Helps coordinate hangar maintenance of doors, cooling system, floors, and safety equipment.
  • Assist Chief Pilot in loading aircraft avionics data into onboard computers with current aeronautical databases (charts, airports, routes, etc)
  • Assist Chief Pilot in coordinating Company aircraft flight schedule with Assistant to CEO/Assistant Corporate Secretary
  • Assist Chief Pilot in updating and maintaining accurate aircraft pilot flight records and aircraft Flight Logs

QUALIFICATIONS
There are clear precedents and practices that the incumbent uses as guidelines to determine how this job is performed. Minimum acceptable qualification for the Pilot position is an FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate with a Multi-Engine Land, Rating and an FAA First Class Medical Certificate.

Approximately 200 hours of Part 91 flight operations per year with approximately 10 days overnight.

Preferred qualifications for the Pilot position areas (see note * below):

  • At least 2000 hours total flight time
  • At least 1000 hours multi-engine jet turbine flight time
  • At least 1500 hours pilot in command flight time
  • Note: Preferred flight times may be waived by the Company for pilots with high performance military jet experience, an FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) maintenance license or other unusual backgrounds. The Company should consult with the aircraft insurance carrier for flight time waivers.

Not required but highly desirable is

  • FAA Type Rating in the Company aircraft model
  • An FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Mechanics License

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Visual capacity to read policies and procedures, rules, regulations, reports, statistical information, computer monitors, hard copy print and other documents encountered during the course of work
  • Frequent use of eye, hand, and finger coordination enabling safe takeoff, flight. and landing of a high speed jet aircraft
  • Ability to climb a 25 foot ladder to inspect and clean top of aircraft and aircraft tail section
  • Mobility and size sufficient to safely enter and depart a small aircraft cockpit and passenger cabin
  • Oral and auditory capacity enabling communication on the aircraft radios with Air Traffic Control and airport personnel
  • Strength to lift cargo and equipment up to 75 pounds into aircraft forward and aft cargo bays
  • Weight less than 220 pounds (less than 190 pounds desired) to help maintain center of gravity within aircraft limitations (note: pilot weight greater than 220 pounds will likely reduce passenger numbers and/or fuel quantity)

SALARY DETAILS

$106,659 - $159,989
