The Bucks County Courier Times, part of the USA Today Network, is seeking a talented photojournalist to join our staff. This person must be a self-starter with a passion for identifying and pursuing compelling visual stories.
In this role, you will:

• Produce videos, stream live videos, and post to social media platforms, as well as create polished, longer-term video projects.Have ongoing conversations with reporters and editors about stories, videos, and photos.
• Create photo galleries.
• Photograph and edit daily assignments, including but not limited to breaking news, features, and sports.
• Regularly pitch visual or visual/text stories illustrating community needs with a strong human dimension.
• Demonstrate high command of techniques and sophisticated craftsmanship.
• Use social media to share your work and connect with diverse audiences.
• Bring ideas for visual coverage to the table for discussion.
• Oversee and maintain photo equipment and in-house studio.

Requirements:

• Proficiency in using photo and video editing software, including
• Exceptional core photojournalism skills (reporting, photography, and videography).
• Bachelor's degree in journalism or photography or equivalent.

Photoshop, Adobe Premier Pro, Photo Mechanic.

• Experience with shooting and editing on an iPhone.
• Industry knowledge.
• Ability to write accurate, detailed captions.
• Able to multi-task and excel under intense deadline pressure in a rapidly changing industry.
• Understanding of social media and how to engage fan bases on digital platforms.
• Knows how to use time efficiently in a 24-hour newsroom.
• Valid driver’s license, a car, and the minimum liability insurance required by state law.
• Effective communicator; able to get along with diverse personalities.
• Works collaboratively within a cross-functional environment.

This job includes evening and weekend work.
