Brief Description
We are hiring immediately and will train you! Vitalant is currently seeking entry-level Laboratory Technicians to perform a variety of lab functions, including component production, labeling, maintenance of records, and data entry.
Our ideal candidate is detail oriented, with strong communication, organization, and analytical skills, and is able to work flexible shifts in a team-oriented environment.
As a Laboratory Technician you will help prepare all blood components for delivery to our hospital and patient. You will perform a variety of tasks and processes related to blood component preparation, including centrifugation, separation, freezing, thawing, washing, storage, sterile docking, transformation, and filtration. Every day you’ll be having fun making a measurable difference in your community.

- Performs receipt of freshly drawn units and samples, and unpacks, evaluates, and routes samples for accessioning.
- Performs labeling of routine and special components and quarantine of unacceptable components.
- Assures product quality, volume, assay requirements, appearance, and time requirements.
- Maintains accurate records and computer entry for component production.
- Maintains equipment and work areas, as assigned.
- Active driver’s license with clean driving record
- Able to lift 40lbs
- Ability to travel as required
- Great customer service and interpersonal skills
