Position Summary:
Major Position Responsibilities:
The position characteristics reflect the most important duties, responsibilities and competencies considered necessary to perform the essential functions of the job in a fully competent manner. - Provides appropriate drug information for all clinical programs.
- Compound and dispense drugs according to policy.
- Assumes responsibility for the operation of the hospital pharmacy.
- Maintains a safe, clean working environment, including unit based safety and infection control requirements.
- Responsible for drug control and distribution throughout the hospital.
Qualifications:
- One (1) year acute care hospital experience, preferred.
- Must have current knowledge of drugs, their actions, availability, and I.V. incompatibility, required.
- Oncology experience, preferred (OP Infusion Oncology department only)
- Experience with controlled substances, preferred.
- Maintains a minimum of 30 hours of continuing education per license period (2 years), required.
- Be professionally competent in all phases of pharmaceutical care, required.
Education:
- PGY1, preferred.
- Pharm D or PhD, preferred.
Licenses:
- Current license by the California State Board of Pharmacy, required.
Certification:
- ACLS or PhART (Pharmacy Advanced Resuscitation Training), required certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
Each new hire candidate who is offered employment must pass a physical evaluation, urine drug screen and pre-employment background checks before starting work.
- Salary/Hourly Wage range based on experience.
To protect the health of patients and staff, and to comply with the new State of California mandates, all job offers are contingent on the successful engagement in the TCMC COVID-19 vaccination program (fully vaccinated with documented proof or approved exception/deferral.)
