Job Description

Catalent Pharma Solutions in Kansas City, MO is hiring a Pharmaceutical Packaging Technician II supports clinical trial projects through the packaging of clinical trial supplies. The Pharmaceutical Packaging Technician II will ensure all work is carried out in compliance with regulatory requirements, good manufacturing practices (cGMP) and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Successful completion of all training in the CSS Pharmaceutical Packaging Technician I course is required to advance into this position.

1st Shift: Monday-Friday: 6:30AM-3:00PM

The Role

  • Develop skills necessary to work with and clean all semi-automated and automated pieces of equipment
  • Ensure that during all packaging operations the site’s safety, quality and compliance metrics are met or surpassed while meeting corporate and site standards and policies
  • Accurately review packaging batch records prior to packaging process to ensure processing instructions are followed in accordance with SOPs; Prepare, complete and correct documentation following GDP and in compliance with SOPs and cGMP
  • Understands GMP gowning and de-gowning requirements for each production area (primary, secondary and potent packaging suites) and ensures compliance
  • Maintain and stay current on all necessary training required to support both primary and secondary packaging operations in Compliance Wire and all other GMP and work-related class room training
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Must satisfactorily complete all requirements for Pharmaceutical Packaging Technician I
  • Inspect drug product, components and clinical labels for defects, blemishes or missing text prior to and during production


The Candidate

  • High School Degree or equivalent
  • Ability to work in a team environment, high attention to detail and above average organizational skills.
  • Able to wear a respirator, occasional lifting/moving up to 50 pounds, will be required to operate a manual pallet jack and requires ability to spend extended periods of time in the following: controlled room temperature, refrigerator and freezer environments.
  • Must be able to work overtime based on business needs
  • Stand, walk, sit, use hands to manipulate, and reach with hands and arms for up to 8-10 hours per day
  • Clinical trial packaging or related manufacturing/operations experience preferred
  • Individual may be required to sit, stand, walk regularly and occasionally lift 0-15 pounds
