Job Description

The Role

As a Senior Technician, you would be a recognized as an expert in one or more skill sets required by engineering customers. You will direct the efforts of others as a group leader or technical expert. You will also be responsible for planning, developing and building test set-ups and evaluate results; investigate mechanical/electrical operational difficulties on products and/or components and recommending corrective action. As the 5 Axis CNC Programmer/ Machinist you will be responsible for taking jobs from 3D model or blueprints and produce finished parts.

Onsite: This position requires an employee to be on-site on a full-time basis.

What You'll Do

  • Maintains part specifications by adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes
  • 3, 4 and 5 Axis Programing, setup tooling, in process basic inspection, finishing to completion to inspected parts.
  • Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership and exploring opportunities to add value to the team
  • Plan machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, and material specifications
  • Program Grob 600F CNC mills using CAM systems

Y our Skills & Abilities

  • Tooling speeds and feeds selection responsibility
  • 3, 4 and 5 axis CNC operation
  • Utilization of GD&T standards
  • Strong level of analytical thinking
  • Significant CAM software experience preferably with Surfcam, Featurecam or Mastercam
  • Strong organizational skills to communicate technical data to colleagues and leadership
  • Must be willing and able to work days and afternoon shifts as required to meet demands
  • Sufficient 3D surfacing skills
  • Interpersonal skills required to work with others from various disciplines and cultures.
  • Minimum of 10 years machining experience necessary or equivalent
  • Manual Mill and Lathe Experience
  • 5 Axis programming experience necessary with 5 plus years
  • The successful candidate will have to successfully pass a driver’s abstract and background

What Can Give You A Competitive Edge

  • 2 year college degree in Engineering, Automotive Technology, or related field
  • Understanding of the constantly evolving racing environment
  • Experience with both horizontal and vertical CNC machines
  • Familiar with UG and TeamCenter
  • Experience with Grob CNC machines
  • Fanuc, Haas, Hurco, Fadal and Siemens controller experience
