The PC Network Technician 1 is responsible for supporting and maintaining the Windows PC environment and the associated desktop and laptop computing hardware. This position is also responsible for supporting and maintaining the networking infrastructure and hardware.

What your day will look like:

  • Answers technical questions
  • Repairs or replaces malfunctioning equipment
  • Provides prompt technical support to personnel using PC and networking equipment
  • Research and resolves problems and suggest solutions
  • Works with peers across the Corporate IT organization to ensure high quality solutions are deployed and maintained using consistent technologies and industry best practices framework

What you need to succeed:

  • Travel up to 25-35% mainly within the Regional Support area where the technician is based
  • Familiar with Microsoft Windows Operating System, Microsoft Office, and Network Cabling (copper & fiber)
  • Valid driver’s license required and obligation to maintain compliance with UNITED fleet policy
  • Ability to utilize all Company provided resources and technology
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Be able to frequently sit, stand or walk for long periods of time as well as squat, kneel and climb stairs. Frequent exposure to noisy environments. Ability to frequently push, pull, grasp, and apply fine manipulations
  • Ability to maintain a neat professional appearance within Company guidelines
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Ability to read, write and speak English
  • Required to have a strong background in technical support as well as have excellent presentation and communication skills with a demonstrated focus on customer service
  • Regular and prompt attendance is an essential function of the job
  • Minimum age 18 years old
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by position and compliance with UNITED safety policies
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
  • Ability to maintain safety and security of Company assets
  • Experience in supporting, troubleshooting, and maintaining various types of PC and networking. Mobile equipment support experience desirable but not required
  • Strong ability to interact, communicate and influence within multiple levels of the organization
  • Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or 0 months to 2 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
