As a Payment Posting Specialist, you will be an integral part of our Patient Business Services team, responsible for ensuring accurate billing, collections, and payment posting within our hospital revenue operations. Your work will directly contribute to maintaining the financial health of our organization.
Key Responsibilities
Post and reconcile all incoming cash payments in a timely and accurate manner.
Ensure complete and accurate daily balancing of incoming cash received against cash posted to customer accounts.
Document discrepancies, outstanding items, and exceptions in appropriate systems.
Track and report payment activity and related findings to supervisors.
Adhere to proactive practices to promote accurate, efficient, and timely cash posting and reconciliation.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma or Associate's degree in Accounting or Business Administration.
Two years of experience in revenue cycle functions and systems within a healthcare, insurance, or financial services setting.
Knowledge of health insurance and governmental programs is a plus.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills for effective customer interactions.
High accuracy, attention to detail, and time management skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
