Job Description
Responsibilities:
POSITION SUMMARY
The sitter is a caregiver trained in the area of sitter services, for both psychiatric patients requiring 1:1 observation as well as observing patients who are at risk for falls and other harm to themselves. This position works under close supervisor of the registered nurse.
Qualifications:
POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education/Qualification
  • High School diploma or equivalency

  • Successful completion of training or demonstrate understanding and practical competency in the following areas: Understanding the needs of the elderly, handicapped or convalescing individuals; Transportation and escort services; Alerting staff for medical emergencies; Infection control

  • Health care experience preferred

Skills
  • Must possess patience and tact in working with the elderly or patients at risk for falls or other harm.

  • Able to speak and write English Fluently

  • Demonstrated communication, organization and critical thinking skills

  • Knowledge of basic patient-care activities preferred
