EXEMPTION STATUS: FLSA non-exempt
SCHEDULE: 5 days a week

Position summary
This positon will be the voice of the clinic. Helping navigate the patient through the clinic and helping to facilitate the communication with their healthcare provider so that they can get the information needed to get the care that they need.
MINIMUM education requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Associate Degree in Business Administration, Office Management, or related field preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English. Spanish speaking is recommended.
MINIMUM work experience requirements
  • Working knowledge of medical clinics
  • Proven work experience managing relationship with the public and co-workers in a healthcare or service-related field.
License/certifications
  • None required
OTHER SKILLS
  • Bilingual preferred
  • Proven problem solving skills and communication skills
  • Experience with EMR systems.
Position duties (essential functions)
TITLE
  • Interacting and communicating with the patients to get them the care that they need.
  • Answering calls and problem solving any questions that patients might have.
  • Direct correspondence to the correct area.
  • A high degree of integrity and confidentiality must be maintained at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • This position will work closely with the patients, providers and staff to coordinate care such as: appointment scheduling, specialist referral, general billing questions and medication education.
  • Must have and maintain a high level of skill, proficiency and professionalism with any contact or communication with providers and patients.
General
  • Complies with facility policies and procedures, including fire evacuation and disaster plans.
  • Completes an acceptable work load and accepts additional tasks willingly.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and practice of standard precautions for prevention of the spread of disease.
  • Deals with interpersonal conflict in a healthy and positive manner.
  • Takes appropriate 15 minute breaks and 30 minute for lunch, or notifies Department Lead via email when unable to do so.
  • Plans and organizes work activity to complete scheduled assignments on time.
  • Complies with facility attendance policies and procedures; meets attendance requirements of the job.
  • Exhibit a caring attitude to co-workers and visitors, including working cooperatively with others for a positive work environment and team-building atmosphere.
  • Requests help and/or guidance as necessary in order to safely perform assigned duties.
  • Participates in self-growth opportunities/requirements and participates in training opportunities, in-services and meetings per department and facility policy.
  • Completes occurrence and all other reports per facility policy.
