Job Description

SUMMARY STATEMENT

The Associate Pastor of Calvary en Español West Ministry shall provide leadership to the church’s Hispanic congregation at West campus.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential:

  • Collaborates with the Associate Pastor of Missions & Evangelism to maintain the direction and integration of the church vision, mission, and multi-site strategy.
  • Develops and implements ministry processes and strategies for leading lost people to salvation and baptism and assimilating new members.
  • Facilitates the advancement of the Calvary en Español West congregation in spiritual maturity with discipleship and numerical growth from evangelism.
  • Recruits and develops ministry leaders and teams who can multiply and carry out the vision of the church.
  • Manages the budget process and resources assigned to the Calvary en Español West ministry.
  • Provides the primary spiritual leadership and preaching for the Hispanic congregation at the West campus.
  • Collaborates with the Associate Pastor of Calvary en Español Southside Ministry with some shared ministries.

Marginal:

  • Ensure that sufficient ministry is happening for Hispanic youth in the church.
  • Engages members, guests and community as a pastoral leader of the church. This includes participation in the following responsibilities: Member Care, Worship Service invitations, and Guest follow-up, as well as being active in personal evangelism and discipleship.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS OR STANDARDS

  • Bachelor’s degree in theological studies preferred.
  • Five years pastoral and/or church planting experience preferred.
  • Perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature.
  • Demonstrates strong administrative, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Capable of effective teaching to all ages.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in computer skills, including web-based communication.
  • Demonstrates a mature and growing relationship with God through Jesus Christ, evident in both personal and ministry relationships.
  • Demonstrates ministry, organizational, and leadership abilities, along with problem solving skills, and the ability to implement solutions in a complex environment.
  • Capable of building and leading volunteer teams.
  • Meets the qualifications of a pastor as outlined in I Timothy 3:1-7.
  • Capable of preparing and delivering a gospel-centered sermon.
