This position is
part-time benefit eligible. Summary
Assists the Farm Manager and the Field and Equipment Lead in animal and crop-raising tasks on beef-crop farm by performing the following duties. This position works
2-3 days per week, approximately 15 – 20 hours per week, which includes every other weekend.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Feeds and waters livestock and operates feed room equipment.
Cleans barns, stables, and pens.
Sort and move cattle from pens to loading or treatment areas.
Stacks bales of hay and straw onto/into wagon, truck or barn.
Drives tractor to plow, harrow, and fertilize soil, and cultivate, spray, and harvest crops.
Administers simple medications to livestock.
Hauls feed and hay to livestock.
Operates, repairs, and maintains farm implements and mechanical equipment.
Repairs farm buildings, fences, and other structures.
Hauls livestock and products to market.
Cleans plows, combines, tractors, trucks and other farm equipment.
Mow grass and weed-eat around buildings, shrubs and fences.
Operate a chain saw.
Plant crops.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee must have vision corrected to 20/30 or better. The employee must have good balance on slippery surfaces. The employee must work with airborne seasonings, cardboard dust, work with latex gloves, work with cleaning solutions and work with hands in hot water. Must be able to maintain sustained concentration for up to three hours at a time.
