Part-time Program Director
Workforce Development
Reading Connections is seeking a dynamic and motivated Part-Time Program Director for Workforce Development to lead and oversee our workforce development initiatives. The Program Director plays a pivotal role in building strategic partnerships, managing projects, and driving the success of our workforce development programs. This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on the community by helping individuals gain the skills and opportunities needed to thrive in the workforce.
Key Responsibilities:
Partnership Building
Identify, cultivate, and maintain partnerships with local businesses, educational institutions, government agencies, nonprofit organizations, and other stakeholders.
Collaborate with partners to develop and implement workforce development programs and initiatives.
Work closely with the executive director to align partnerships with organizational goals and objectives.
Project Management
Leading the planning, execution, and evaluation of workforce development projects.
Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets.
Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget while meeting program objectives.
Oversee the coordination of resources, both internal and external, for successful project execution.
Program Development
Research and assess the needs of the local workforce and identify opportunities for program expansion and improvement.
Develop and refine curriculum and training materials to meet industry and participant needs.
Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in workforce development.
Stakeholder Engagement
Maintain strong relationships with program participants, ensuring their needs and concerns are addressed.
Collaborate with community leaders and organizations to advocate for workforce development initiatives.
Represent the organization at relevant events, meetings, and conferences.
Data Analysis and Reporting
Collect and analyze program data to measure and report on program outcomes and impact.
Prepare regular reports for internal and external stakeholders, including funders and partners.
Use data to make data-drive decisions and adjustments to program strategies.
Leadership
Serve on the Leadership Team for the organization, working closely with the executive director and other senior staff to help guide the organization in accordance with its strategic goals.
Oversee workforce development program staff and direct their work on a regular basis.
Serve as a mentor for program staff and lead by example.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field; Master’s preferred
3+ years working in a nonprofit organization
Proven experience in community partnership building
Strong project management skills and experience
Strong time management and organizational skills
Understanding of the local workforce landscape and the challenges facing job seekers
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
Data-driven and result-oriented approach
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Passion for empowering others through education and opportunity
This is a part-time position, estimated at 25 hours per week, with flexibility in scheduling to accommodate the needs of programs and partnerships.
